YouTube for Android Getting UI Changes Making It Alike iOS Version of the App
Google is reportedly working on a new UI for its YouTube for Android app. Now, in place of offering PiP mode (Picture in Picture), the app shows a “floating” bar at the bottom of the screen, which also features Play and Pause option within. The new UI also enables users to close the app without the extra swipe.
The company has been testing UI changes for the app for quite some time. This week marks the third change in the UI of app’s Android version. Other two changes included a sneak bar that houses the snapshot of the video that you are currently watching while the other change is made to the bottom navigation that now offers quick links to Home, Trending, Subscriptions and Library sections.
All these changes will be implemented through a server-side update pushed by YouTube for its Android app. Other than the changes mentioned above, YouTube has also moved the Upload button to the left search bar. The upper row of search bar now permanently shows the text “YouTube” instead of the current section that the user is exploring in the app.
