DSGMC Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Cath Lab at Gurdwara Bala Sahib

New Delhi, August 21, 2026: President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Harmeet Singh Kalka, today announced the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) at Guru Harkrishan Hospital, Gurdwara Bala Sahib.

On the occasion, an ardas was offered at the holy feet of Guru Sahib, seeking blessings that the advanced facility becomes a valuable means of diagnosis and treatment for patients suffering from cardiac ailments, including modern cardiac procedures such as stent placement wherever medically required.

Kalka expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Aditya Birla Group company for providing the sophisticated equipment for the service of the sangat. He said the Cath Lab, established at an estimated cost of approximately ₹5.5 to ₹6 crore, marks another significant milestone in strengthening healthcare services associated with the Gurdwara Sahib.

Guru Harkrishan Hospital Provides 50-Bed Healthcare Facility

Kalka further said that Guru Harkrishan Hospital at Gurdwara Bala Sahib already has a 50-bed facility providing healthcare services to needy patients. The hospital also offers several free services, including CT scans, dialysis and OPD consultations.

He said healthcare facilities at the hospital are being continuously expanded with the objective of making quality medical care accessible to the sangat and underprivileged sections of society at affordable rates.

Cath Lab to Support Advanced Cardiac Procedures

DSGMC General Secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon said the newly inaugurated Cath Lab would facilitate advanced diagnosis and treatment of various cardiac conditions. He added that the facility would also enable essential interventional cardiac procedures, including stent placement, for patients who require such treatment.

Kahlon emphasized that these services would be made available to the sangat at affordable rates, ensuring that advanced cardiac care becomes more accessible to ordinary people and those in need.
