UP Cabinet Approves Free Transfer of 26 Hectares of Land for NSG Regional Centre in Ayodhya

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the free transfer of 26 hectares of land to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for establishing a Regional Centre of the National Security Guard (NSG) in Ayodhya.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Cabinet approved a proposal to transfer 26 hectares, or 65 acres, of barren land in Milkipur tehsil of Ayodhya to the MHA.

Security Sensitivity of Ayodhya Has Increased

Giving details of the Cabinet decisions, Minister of State for Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Khanna said that following the construction of the Ram Temple and its consecration ceremony, Ayodhya has emerged at the national and international level as a major cultural, religious and strategic centre.

A large number of devotees, distinguished guests and tourists from India and abroad are continuously visiting Ayodhya. In view of this, the security sensitivity of the area has also increased considerably.

NSG Centre to Strengthen Security Arrangements

Keeping this in view, Suresh Khanna said that permanent deployment of the NSG in Ayodhya through the proposed Regional Centre has become necessary.

The NSG centre is being established to strengthen the security arrangements of the Ram Temple and to help deal with any potential security challenge in Ayodhya. It will also further strengthen the rapid response capability in any emergency situation.
