June 1, Doraha (Amrish Anand)World No Tobacco Day Observed at Saraswati Model Senior Secondary School, Doraha June 1, Doraha (Amrish Anand) On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, a special awareness event was organized at Saraswati Model Senior Secondary School, Doraha. The program aimed to educate students about the harmful effects of tobacco and to encourage a tobacco-free lifestyle. During the event, Prabhjot Singh, a student of Grade 8, shared insightful information on the dangers of tobacco use. He, along with all the students, took a pledge to never consume tobacco in any form throughout their lives. Addressing the gathering, Principal Mr. Pritish Gusain emphasized the severe health hazards associated with tobacco consumption. He stated that tobacco users not only harm their own health but also pose risks to those around them, including family members and strangers exposed to secondhand smoke. He urged students to become role models and motivate others to quit tobacco. Mr. Gusain also highlighted legal measures under the Tobacco Control Act 2003, reminding everyone that smoking or selling tobacco products is prohibited within a 100-meter radius of any educational institution. He warned that violations can lead to fines and legal action. Additionally, he pointed out that selling tobacco to individuals under 18 is a punishable offense. The event witnessed the presence of School Director Mr. D.S. Gusain, Madam Asha Gosain, Principal Mr. Pritish Gusain, along with the entire school staff and student body, making it a united stand against tobacco.
