Indian-Origin Captain Smith Machchar Reportedly Helps Avert Crisis on Flydubai Dubai-Tel Aviv Flight

An Indian-origin captain, Smith Machchar, is being credited with helping avert a major crisis aboard Flydubai flight FZ1073, which was travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv with around 180 passengers.

According to emerging reports, chaos erupted inside the cockpit after the co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain and attempted to take control of the aircraft.

The flight reportedly sent a 7500 emergency code, indicating possible unlawful interference or a hijack situation.

Despite being injured, Captain Machchar is reported to have fought back, while passengers and other pilots onboard helped bring the situation under control.

The aircraft later landed safely in Saudi Arabia.
