KP Group Partners with SSRDP to Launch Skill Training Centres for Youth Empowerment

Surat (Gujarat) [India], March 01: KP Human Development Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of KP Group, a leading name in the renewable energy sector, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDP) to establish skill training centres aimed at equipping youth with essential vocational skills. The MoU was signed by Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman & MD of KP Group, in the presence of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji at a grand event in Bengaluru.

This partnership marks a significant step in addressing the pressing need for skilled manpower in India's renewable energy sector. As India progresses towards its ambitious "Net Zero" emission target by 2070, KP Group has set its own goal of achieving 10+ GW renewable energy capacity by 2030. However, both organizations have recognized a critical shortage of skilled workers in the sector and have committed to bridging this gap through structured vocational training programs.

As part of the initiative, a pilot project will be launched in Gujarat, and based on its success, the model will be expanded across various regions in India.

Leaders Speak on the Initiative
Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman & MD of KP Group, highlighted the importance of skill development, stating:
"At KP Group, we believe in the transformative power of skill development. We have always supported skill-building initiatives, and this collaboration with SSRDP will help empower India's youth with the skills they need to secure better job opportunities."

Mehul Parikh, Trustee of SSRDP, also emphasized the initiative’s significance:
"Skill development is a key driver of economic growth. Through this partnership, we will provide structured, high-quality training that enhances employability and contributes to social progress."

Scope of the MoU
Under this agreement, the two organizations will collaborate to establish training centres focused on Green Job skills, ensuring that the youth are equipped to meet the evolving demands of the job market.

KP Human Development Foundation will set up and maintain fully equipped training labs aligned with industry standards. It will also act as a knowledge and industry partner, offering expertise, best practices, financial support, joint certification, and placement assistance. KP Group is already running renewable energy courses under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan in collaboration with Surat’s SVNIT to prepare ITI students for future opportunities.

SSRDP will oversee and manage training programs, deploy qualified trainers, conduct structured vocational courses, and provide behavioral training to improve employability.

Commitment to Social Responsibility
KP Human Development Foundation has been actively engaged in education, healthcare, and community upliftment initiatives. The foundation supports 300+ CSR activities, including scholarships, medical camps, and vocational training. It has adopted eight educational institutions and partnered with 30+ schools and colleges, benefiting over 12,000 students. To promote education among underprivileged students, the foundation has already established four libraries, with three more nearing completion.

Established in 2001, SSRDP operates under the Art of Living Foundation, focusing on empowering rural India through skill development and service programs. The organization currently runs 116 Sri Sri Kaushal Vikas Kendras, 29 Prison Skill Centres, and 39 ITI training centres across India.

By joining forces, KP Group and SSRDP aim to transform lives through skill development, strengthen India’s workforce, and contribute to the nation’s sustainable future.
