Pakistan Blocks Airspace for Russian Nuclear Fuel Flight to Bangladesh, Rooppur Delivery Delayed

Dhaka: Bangladesh’s plans to receive another consignment of nuclear fuel for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant have been delayed after a Russian cargo flight failed to secure the required airspace clearance from Pakistan.

The shipment was scheduled to reach Dhaka on September 24, but the aircraft could not operate on the planned route. Bangladesh has now been informed that the delivery will begin in October.

Fuel Supplies for Rooppur Unit-2 to Continue Through December

Rosatom, the Russian state nuclear corporation handling the Rooppur project, said that fuel supplies for Rooppur Unit-2 will continue through December.
