Social Worker Sonu Sethi Honoured by Bollywood Actress Mandakini Thakur

Doraha, August 10 (Amrish Anand): Social worker Sonu Sethi, a native of Doraha in Ludhiana district, was honoured by renowned Bollywood actress Mandakini Thakr  during a children’s dance competition organised in Kangra.Sethi has been actively involved in social service for the past 19 years, particularly in the Zirakpur and Dera Bassi areas. He has been providing free ambulance services through four ambulances and has also played a significant role in performing the last rites of hundreds of unclaimed bodies. Besides this, he has helped hundreds of mentally challenged and helpless persons by taking them to suitable orphanages and care centres.Sethi has also been working for environmental protection by regularly planting trees and creating awareness among people about the importance of protecting the environment.While expressing his gratitude to Mandakini f Thakur or the honour, Sethi said that around 40 years ago, he used to perform dance at school functions on songs from the popular film Ram Teri Ganga Maili. “Today, being honoured by the same renowned actress is a matter of great pride and happiness for me,” he said.Speaking on the occasion, Sethi said that humanity is the greatest religion in the world. He appealed to people to rise above religious differences and disputes and dedicate themselves to serving humanity and helping those in need.His message received an enthusiastic response from the audience, with the hall echoing with applause.
