Nagar Kirtan Organized for the 648th Prakash Purab of Guru Ravidas Maharaj

Doraha, February 12 (Amrish Anand) – The entire town of Doraha was adorned with colorful flags, and the streets resonated with praises of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj. Devotees were seen rejoicing to the tunes of religious hymns and bhajans. The atmosphere echoed with slogans like "Begumpura Vasaauna Ae" and "Satguru Ravidas Ji Di Jai".To mark the 648th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj, the Shri Guru Ravidas Welfare Committee (Regd.) Doraha, Baba Sahib Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Welfare Committee (Regd.), and the entire congregation of Doraha organized the 19th grand Nagar Kirtan. The procession commenced from Gurdwara Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, Arrichan Colony, after the Ardaas (prayer). It then passed through Kaddo Chowk, GT Road, Gurdwara Sri Nanaksar (Jaipur Road), Sundar Nagar Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Mohalla Zaildar, Gurudwara Shri Nanaksar (Jaipura Road), Rajwant Road, Beant Singh Chowk, and Gurdwara Sri Kalghidhar Sahib.The Nagar Kirtan continued its route through the entire city, making stops at Vishwakarma Mandir, Gurdwara Sri Singh Sabha near the railway station, Spera Basti, Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed, Valmiki Mohalla, Old Dana Mandi, Vishwakarma Road, and Municipal Council Road before concluding at Gurdwara Bhagat Guru Ravidas Maharaj with a final Ardaas.A beautifully decorated palanquin adorned with flowers carried the revered Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, leading the Nagar Kirtan under the guidance of the Panj Piaras (Five Beloved Ones). Devotees participated enthusiastically, traveling in tractors, trolleys, cars, and jeeps to be part of the procession.Several Raagi and Dhadi groups mesmerized the congregation with their katha, kirtan, and Gurmat discourses.Throughout the procession, devotees offered beautiful Rumalas to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and organized various langars,serving tea,fritters, sweets, fruits, and Guru’s Langar without interruption. Different groups enriched the gathering with spiritual discourses and hymns, inspiring everyone with the teachings of Guru Ravidas Maharaj.As the Nagar Kirtan traversed through the city, devotees continued singing the praises of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj before the procession concluded at Gurdwara Sahib. Several religious, social, and political leaders paid their respects on this occasion. The Sri Guru Ravidas Welfare Committee (Regd.) Doraha and Baba Sahib Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Welfare Committee (Regd.) expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the devotees who participated and encouraged everyone to follow the path of wisdom and inspiration laid by Bhagat Guru Ravidas Maharaj.
