Govt College, Machhiwara Sahib Conducted Extension Lecture On 350th Martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Machhiwara November 7 ,With the directions of the Directorate Higher Education & Languages, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Garsharanjit Singh Sandhu a seminar cum extension lecture was conducted at Govt College, Machhiwara Sahib. Program Convenor & NSS Program Officer Dr. Kamaljit Kaur Banga said that it was the first lecture in the series of seminars and lectures dedicated to the 350th martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to be organised in the college. She initiated the talk by welcoming & introducing the Resource Person Prof. Kamal Kishore, Head Dept of History, Government College for Girls, Malerkotla. Dr. Banga, while welcoming Prof. Kamal Kishore, shared with the students about the life and ideology of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and gave the message to the students that we should fulfill our responsibility towards our environment. Prof. Kamal Kishore spoke in detail on the topic of Guru Tegh Bahadur's Martyrdom & his contribution towards humanity and freedom of religion. While talking about the martyrdom of Guru Sahib and the role of Guru Sahib in humanity and religious freedom, he shed light on the socio-political conditions of that time. He continued his conversation with illustrations and quotes from Gurbani. He described Guru Sahib as the protector of human rights who laid down his life for the safety of Hinduism.After the lecture, Prof. Kamal Kishore was honored by the Staff of the college and was thanked for his thought provoking lecture. Prof. Amrish Khullar, Prof. Ajay Batta, Prof. Pardeep Singh, Dr. Ram Singh, Deeksha Sindwani, Neha Chopra, Amardeep Singh, Neha Chopra, Mandeep Singh & Manpreet Kaur were present on the occasion.
