Large participation of children witnessed in the religious and cultural event organised by Suhag Jewels, Doraha
Doraha, December 26 (Amrish Anand) — A beautiful turban-tying competition dedicated to the sacred memory of the martyrs of the month of Poh was organised by Suhag Jewellers, Doraha, on December 26,. The religious and cultural event was held at 10:00 a.m. at the premises of Suhag Jewellers, Doraha. On this occasion, Guru Ka Langar was also arranged for the participants and the sangat.Sharing details of the event, prominent businessman and social worker of Doraha, Mr. Vineet Ashat (Suhag Jewellers), stated that the main objective of the competition was to connect the younger generation with Sikh history and to inspire them through the great sacrifices of the martyrs of the month of Poh. He added that such events play a significant role in preserving Sikh traditions and cultural values.Mr. Ashat further informed that all participating children were honoured, while attractive cash prizes were awarded to those who delivered outstanding performances. In the turban-tying competition, Chetanjot Singh secured the first position, S.Gurkirat Singh stood second, and Harpreet Singh achieved the third position. The winners were awarded cash prizes of ₹2,100, ₹1,500, and ₹1,100 respectively.Former MLA and District Congress President Mr. Lakhvir Singh Lakha and Coordinator and Chairman Mr. Bant Singh Doburji,Dr.j.l Anand,Baljit Ashat,Surinderpal Sood Mandeep Mangat,Rajinder Gahir,Anish Bhanot,Inderjit singh Shalu,Jasminder Jassa,Gagandeep singh landa were present on the occasion as special guests and appreciated the successful organisation of the event.In conclusion, the organisers appealed to the residents of the city and parents to encourage maximum participation of children in such religious and cultural activities, so that the memory of the martyrs may be honoured with reverence and humility.
