National Science Day Celebrated at Guru Nanak National College

Doraha (Amrish Anand)The Science Department of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, celebrated National Science Day in honor of the discovery of the "Raman Effect" by Sir C.V. Raman. The theme of this year's National Science Day was "Empowering Young Indians for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for a Developed India."On this occasion, Dr. Manoj Kumar Chaudhary, Head of the Chemistry Department, highlighted the significance of the theme and the immense contributions of Dr. C.V. Raman. He emphasized the crucial role of science and technology in every aspect of life and encouraged students to explore the vast possibilities that science presents.Various activities, including a poster-making competition, interactive experiments, and scientific exhibitions, were organized as part of the celebrations. Expressing her views, Prof. Malti Tiwari, Head of the Mathematics Department, stated that the objective of these activities was to cultivate scientific curiosity among students and acquaint them with recent developments in the field of science.In the competitions, Team-H—Vaishnavi Singh (BSc II) and Bipinpreet Singh (BSc I)—secured the first position, while Arshjot Kaur (BSc III) and Sakshi (BSc III) won second place. Vikramjit Singh (BSc III) and Harjot Singh (BSc I) secured third place. The jury members for the event were Prof. Ranjit Kaur, Dr. Nirlep Kaur, and Dr. Lovleen Bains.The successful organization of the event saw significant contributions from Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Rohit Kumar, Prof. Gurpreet Kaur, Laboratory Assistants Mr. Gurpreet Singh, and Mr. Paramjit Singh from the Science Department.The college management committee members and Principal Dr. Sarvjit Kaur Brar congratulated the entire Science Department team for the successful execution of the event.
