Doraha’s Youngster Karamjit Singh Becomes Captain in Merchant Navy

May 29,Doraha(Amrish Anand )Punjabi youth have made remarkable achievements on foreign soil across various fields, bringing pride to both Punjab and India. One such inspiring story is that of young Karamjit Singh from Satnam Nagar in Doraha, a town near the canal under Khanna police district in Ludhiana. Through his hard work and dedication, Karamjit Singh has risen to the position of Captain in the Merchant Navy.Karamjit Singh was born on July 11, 1985, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in the home of Subedar Major Daler Singh and mother Ajaib Kaur. Due to his father's service in the Indian Army, the family moved and eventually settled in Doraha, District Ludhiana.Karamjit completed his early education at Saraswati Model School in Doraha. After finishing his 12th grade, in 2005, he joined the Marine Officer Training Centre in Pondicherry as a deck cadet for training in the Merchant Navy. Since 2005, Karamjit has been serving in the Merchant Navy.He pursued his nautical studies in the United Kingdom, consistently advancing through dedication and perseverance.Over the past 20 years, he has cleared over 40 written exams related to the Merchant Navy and has steadily climbed the ranks to become a ship captain. In 2012, he and his family shifted to Mohali.Karamjit’s father, Major Daler Singh, has honorably served in the Indian Army as a Subedar Major.His sister, Parminder Kaur, works as an Assistant General Manager (AGM) in the Food Corporation of India.His wife, Navjot Kaur, has served as an Assistant Professor in a college.Karamjit’s parents express deep gratitude to God for his success. They urge the youth to stay away from drugs and to set clear goals for themselves. With strong determination and hard work, they believe success is inevitable. They also appeal to parents to support and encourage their children in achieving their dreams.
