Delhi Police’s ‘Thana Diwas-Jansunwai’ Takes Up 1,561 Grievances in a Day

New Delhi, August 30: Delhi Police’s ‘Thana Diwas-Jansunwai’ initiative is gaining momentum, with 1,561 grievances taken up and addressed across all 15 police districts of the national capital in a single day.
 

Weekly public hearing sessions were held at police stations across all 15 districts of Delhi on Saturday. People attended the sessions with their grievances, which were heard by senior police officers.
 

Senior police officers, including Special Commissioners of Police, Joint CPs, DCPs and ACPs, participated in the public hearing programmes, giving people direct access to senior officials of the department.
 

The initiative helped ensure that grievances were heard at the appropriate level and followed up effectively. It also helped build greater confidence among complainants.
 

The public hearing sessions provided a platform for people to raise their grievances and concerns while also strengthening communication and cooperation between the police and the public.
 

During the sessions, people also shared suggestions on several issues related to daily life and problems in their local areas.
 

Following directions from LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Delhi Police launched the ‘Thana Diwas-Jansunwai’ initiative in June 2026 to strengthen public outreach and ensure prompt redressal of grievances.
 

Under the leadership of Police Chief Delhi Anurag Kumar, the initiative provides people with a platform to directly raise their grievances and concerns during public hearing sessions held every Saturday.
 

The initiative has been receiving a good response from the public. It is serving as an important link between people and the law enforcement agency while making the police more accessible to the general public.
