Hisar Traffic Police Impound Car With Mud-Covered Number Plates, Issue ₹10,500 Challan

Hisar: Haryana Police impounded a car and issued a ₹10,500 challan after its registration plates were found obscured with mud in Hisar.

According to a police spokesperson, reported from Panchkula on October 1, 2026, the action was taken by a Hisar traffic police team at Bikaner Chowk as part of an ongoing drive against traffic rule violations.

During the check, officers found mud covering the car’s number plates, rendering the registration number illegible.

The driver was questioned about the obscured plates but allegedly could not provide a satisfactory explanation. The traffic police subsequently issued a challan of ₹10,500 and impounded the vehicle.

Hisar Traffic In-charge Inspector Chandrabhan said registration plates must remain clearly visible at all times. The action was carried out under the directions of the Hisar Superintendent of Police.

The action forms part of Haryana Police’s broader crackdown on vehicles with obscured, tampered or missing number plates, which are often used to evade detection by cameras or authorities.
