Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s Health Deteriorates on 93rd Day of Hunger Strike, 103°F Fever

Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a hunger strike for 93 days at the Punjab-Haryana Khannauri border, is in critical condition as his blood pressure has shot up to 176/107, and he is now suffering from a high fever of 103°F. A team of doctors is closely monitoring his health, trying to bring down his fever by placing cold compresses on his forehead.

Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar stated that Dallewal has appealed to the public and farmers to gather in large numbers at the Khannauri border to strengthen the protest and ensure their victory.

Meanwhile, talks between farmer leaders and the central government resumed on February 14 after nearly a year. Two rounds of discussions have taken place so far, with the most recent one held on February 22, led by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The farmers presented their stance, and the government has requested factual data from them to consult with its experts before making a decision.

Given these ongoing negotiations, farmers from Punjab and Haryana have postponed their march towards Delhi. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher announced on Monday that the final decision on the Delhi march will now be taken after March 19.
