Khatri Maha Sabha Doraha Submitted a Memorandum to SDM Payal
Doraha, March 5 (Amrish Anand) – Under the directions of the Punjab state high command of Khatri Maha Sabha, including Khatri Shri Ashok Thapar (National President, Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar Memorial Trust, Ludhiana) and Punjab State President Khatri Shri Vijay Dhir (Advocate), the Khatri Maha Sabha Punjab Unit, Doraha, submitted a demand letter to the Hon’ble S. Pardeep Singh Bains, SDM Payal. In this demand letter, Khatri Maha Sabha Punjab has appealed to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, requesting that, before March 23, 2025 (the Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev), a direct corridor (route) be provided to the Shaheed-e-Azam Sukhdev Thapar Memorial in Ludhiana from Chowra Bazaar. The Khatri community, which has a population of nearly 3.5 million in Punjab, strongly demands this corridor as Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar is a proud heritage of the Khatri community. Since this demand has been pending for a long time, its fulfillment will ensure that the younger generations learn about this significant historical site. The Sabha has also urged CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, who enjoys great love and respect from Punjabis and the Khatri community, to inaugurate this corridor himself. Those present during the submission of the demand letter included Vijay Makol (Chairman), Ashok Vinayak (Senior Vice Chairman), Vinod Sethi (Vice Chairman), Tarvinder Kumar Bobby (President), Lekh Raj Anand (Secretary), Naveen Kapila (Cashier), Advocate Abhay Bector (Legal Secretary, Payal), Tarun Anand, and Amrish Anand (both Media Advisors).
