February 15, 2025 Doraha(Amrish Anand) Renowned businessman and social worker of Doraha, Shri Adarshpal Bector, bid farewell to this mortal world on February 4, 2025. He made significant contributions to the development of educational institutions such as Guru Nanak National College and Guru Nanak Model School. Along with fulfilling his family responsibilities, he also diligently carried out his social duties. As a guiding force behind these institutions, he dedicatedly served the Doraha region. Guru Nanak National College and Guru Nanak Model Senior Secondary School express their sorrow over his eternal departure and bow in respect to his invaluable social service.Shri Adarshpal Bector was born on February 26, 1946. He was not only a man of humble nature but also a kind-hearted person who considered helping the needy his duty. Besides his early education, he completed an M.A. in Geography from Arya College, Ludhiana. In Doraha, Shri Bector was involved in the cement and shuttering business, while the family-run commission agency (Aadhti) was inherited from his ancestors. He shared his life with his late wife, Smt. Anita Bector, and provided his son, Advocate Abhay Bector, with the right guidance to attain higher education and a respectable place in society. Shri Bector played a crucial role in the upliftment of educational institutions in the region, working alongside the late Dr. Ishwar Singh, the founding president of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha.He served as an executive member of the Guru Nanak National College Management Board for a long time, held the position of Joint Secretary of the Guru Nanak National College Management Committee, and was also the Manager of Guru Nanak Model Senior Secondary School, Doraha. From 1992 to 1997, he served as the President of the Municipal Committee of Doraha. He is survived by his son Abhay Bector, daughter-in-law Smt. Abida Bector, and their children.The Bhog ceremony and final prayers for the peace of his soul will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Dr. Ishwar Singh Memorial Hall, Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, with deep respect and reverence.
