Pakistani Intelligence Operative Allegedly Honey-Trapped Navy Sailor to Extract Sensitive Naval Data

According to officials, a female Pakistani intelligence operative reportedly contacted Navy sailor Pradeep Mukherjee several months ago. Over time, the handler allegedly used the online relationship to extract sensitive information concerning strategic naval assets, fleet movements and the operational framework of the Visakhapatnam base.

CI Cell Detected Suspicious Digital Footprints

The Counter Intelligence (CI) cell, a specialised unit tasked with countering cross-border espionage and terror threats, launched an investigation after detecting suspicious digital footprints linked to the sailor.

Following the detection, the CI cell placed Mukherjee under surveillance, according to the officials.
