International Women's Day Celebrated at Guru Nanak National College

March 8, Doraha (Amrish Anand): Today, Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, celebrated International Women's Day which was organised by the extension cell in collaboration with cultural activities cell. AI expert Ms. Komal Chopra Lekhi participated as the keynote speaker. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the General Secretary of the College Managing Committee, S. Pavitarpal Singh Pangli, and Dr. Malwinder Singh Malhi.At the beginning of the program, Dean of Extension Activities, Dr. Lovleen Bains, warmly welcomed the keynote speaker and the guests. Ms. Komal Lekhi shared her thoughts with the students, inspiring young women to become self-reliant in the age of artificial intelligence. She also provided insights into earning money through digital marketing. Similarly, Dr. Malwinder Singh Malhi encouraged students to create their own sources of income.On this occasion, the college honored the keynote speakers with commemorative tokens of appreciation. The event was organized under the command of the Dean, Cultural Activities, Dr. Nidhi Saroop and Co-Dean Prof. Rampal Banga. Students presented poetry, songs, and a musical play, highlighting the role and contributions of women in society.Additionally, the college recognized and honored female principals from schools in the Doraha and the surrounding areas for their dedicated services.Dr. Amandeep Kaur (Government Senior Secondary School, Beeja), Mrs. Harvinder Rooprai Kaur (School of Eminence, Doraha), Vice Principal Mrs. Hardeep Kaur (Shakti Public School, Sahnewal), and Vice Principal Mrs. Sarabjeet Kaur (Guru Nanak Model Senior Secondary School, Doraha) were especially honoured on the special day.In her address, College Principal Dr. Sarvjeet Kaur Brar congratulated everyone on International Women’s Day and encouraged society to respect and uplift women. Finally, General Secretary S. Pavitarpal Singh Pangli expressed gratitude to all attendees. The event was also attended by the Principal of Shakti Public School, Mr. Manwinder Singh.The College Managing Committee’s office bearers, members, and Principal Dr. Sarvjeet Kaur Brar congratulated the entire team for the successful organization of the program.
