On Monday, the Congress party accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab of fostering a rise in Khalistani sentiments and radicalism, labeling the AAP’s governance model as one that could "destroy the country."
Addressing the media, Congress leaders, including All India Congress Committee Treasurer and MP Ajay Maken and Former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, alleged that 11 grenade attacks had occurred across Punjab under AAP’s rule. They claimed that the government had failed to take any significant action, with the incidents largely overlooked by the media.
Randhawa stated that the grenades used were of Australian origin, similar to those deployed in the 2001 Parliament attack and the 2008 Mumbai attacks. He added that he had written to the Home Minister, urging immediate intervention in the matter.
Criticizing AAP’s governance, Randhawa said, "Kejriwal keeps promoting the Delhi model for Punjab and the Punjab model for Delhi. His so-called model is nothing but a recipe to destroy the country."
The Congress leaders accused the AAP government of neglecting critical issues such as these grenade attacks and failing to address rising concerns about security and radicalism in the state.
